Client: The Trenches Gym
Role: Web Designer & UI/UX Lead

Goal: Transform an outdated, low-engagement site into a bold, high-conversion fitness experience.
Before: Info-based homepage, dated visuals, minimal brand identity.
After: A sleek, modern design aligned with the gym’s energy, built to drive membership actions.
Challenge
The original site lacked engaging visuals and strong brand identity.
Navigation was unclear and didn’t guide visitors toward membership, class signup or scheduling.
The gym’s personality and intensity weren’t being communicated through the design.
Needed a design that appeals to fitness-focused audience while functioning across devices.
My Approach
Discovery & Audit: Reviewed the existing site’s UX flow, visual assets, messaging, and conversion paths.
Concepting: Developed a mood board and visual direction grounded in bold imagery, dark tonality with pops of accent, clear typography, and action-oriented layouts.
Wireframes & Navigation Mapping: Created desktop and mobile wireframes that focus on straightforward paths to membership, classes, and scheduling.
Visual Design:
Chose high-impact hero visuals and dynamic section breaks to express gym intensity.
Upgraded typography to a bold sans-serif for headings and a clean legible body font for readability.
Refined the color palette to match brand energy, maintaining consistency across pages.
Designed UI elements (buttons, forms, icons) for clarity and motivation.
Development Handoff: Provided a fully annotated Figma file (or equivalent) with component library and responsive guidelines, ready for implementation on Wix.

Consider periodic refresh of hero imagery to keep design fresh and motivating.
